Athletics & Activities: Holistic Development
At Takoma Academy, education extends beyond the classroom. Our Athletics and Activities provide students with opportunities to discover their God-given gifts, develop leadership, build meaningful relationships, pursue excellence, and serve others. Whether competing on the court or field, performing on stage, exploring a future profession, or telling the story of our school, students are encouraged to become well-rounded, College, Career, and Kingdom-Ready leaders.Today, Takoma Academy is a college-preparatory, co-educational high school serving students in a Christ-centered learning environment. Our campus includes spacious classrooms, STEM laboratories, a chapel, one of Maryland’s largest high school gymnasiums, music and dining spaces, an outdoor multipurpose field, and a 400-meter track—supporting students as they learn, worship, create, and grow.
Athletics
Takoma Academy Athletics develops Kingdom-Class student-athletes who pursue excellence in competition while demonstrating the character of Christ through discipline, teamwork, integrity, and service. Through athletics, we prepare students to lead with purpose, steward their God-given gifts, and care for their temples—mind, body, and spirit—for a lifetime.

Participation in athletics is both a privilege and an opportunity for growth. Student-athletes are expected to demonstrate self-discipline, sportsmanship, academic responsibility, and respect for teammates, coaches, officials, opponents, and our community. As representatives of Takoma Academy, our student-athletes are challenged to pursue excellence while reflecting Christ—in competition and beyond.
