  • Prayer/Worship at the beginning of each class  (average 4 classes daily)
  • Daily Chapel  (10-15 minutes)
  • At least 2 Weeks of Prayer yearly  1 lead by students, and 1 local pastor

  • 3 National Merit Minority Scholarship Semifinalists this year. (Scored in top 5% of all minority students PSAT)
  • This is a higher number then would be expected for the number of minority students participating.

Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED)
  • Iowa Tests of Educational Development (ITED)  Takoma Academy students by 4th year have scored well above the mean.  The tests show a pattern of improved scholastic achievement year by year.
  • This test is given annually to nearly all high school students in the state of Iowa, as well as a number of private school systems including all SDA high school students.

  • install new fire doors in all hallways
  • install new windows in all classroom & office areas
  • install new drapery hardware & dress windows in all classrooms & office areas
  • purchase new piano for the chapel
  • replace cafeteria tables & chairs
  • recarpet all hallways & chapel

  • update heating/cooling system for entire school with individual units for separate sections of the building

  • fence in the playing fields leaving track accessible for community use

  • To this point, with God’s help, we have raised $30,000 towards this project.  We have completed phase one.  Approximately $10,000 is required to complete this project
