1. Q. How do I donate my car?
A. Call us at (301) 439-8223 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, to set up all details regarding the car you would like to donate. We will need three things: (1) First, your car, (2) second, the title for your car signed on the back where it has the seller's signature, (3) Finally, we need your keys.
2. Q. How am I benefited from my donation?
A. The most important thing that you get is a tax deduction for your car. Upon the sale of the vehicle, a donation letter will be sent to the donor in the amount received from the auction.
3. Q. Can Takoma Academy have my car picked up for me?
A. Yes. We are able to have your donation picked up within 48 business hours, excluding weekends and holidays.
4. Q. What happens to my car afterwards?
A. Takoma Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist high school. In the auto shop program some cars are worked on by students taking the Auto Shop classes. All cars are eventually sold at the auction. Upon the sale of the vehicle, a donation letter will be sent to the donor in the amount received from the auction. The money received supports the Industrial Arts department and Takoma Academy.
